HannaKathryn - I would let your professors/class know you may get a call, set the phone on vibrate, and sit near the door to minimize disruption. I did that for both class and work and everyone was supportive. Then you're covered regardless!
My phone is definately glued to my hand today. It is an exciting day for them and us!
Bahkmom - I totally agree - I will be pacing next week as well. I bet I will not be able to sleep the night before because of the excitement.
Can't wait to start seeing the messages pop up saying everyone is getting their calls!
Yes, bahkmom! I can hardly wait to see my son!. What an exciting day!!
Ok, ladies. Hoping that 081/082 went through BattleStations last night. They would be finishing up about now. Will have a capping ceremony, where they trade those RECRUIT caps for their NAVY caps. They are sailors then! Calls can start about 2 pm GL time today...will go on for a good while---please ask if all in that division passed and post here. Some may have "watch" and may miss calling today with their division. They should be able to call later today or over the weekend (hopefully!).
So keep those cell phones handy! Even when going to the mail box or the bathroom....they should have a bit longer to talk on the phone today. Also, if you can get on your new sailor's FB, do that too. If lines are long for the phones, many opt to pay for computer time and post on FB. Many moms have been notified that they have sailors this way!
Good luck! Happy to welcome the first group of sailors for this PIR group today!
Good Morning all!!! In exactly one week we will be pacing the floors waiting to head over to PIR!!!
Yeah Amy...humor is a good thing...and it can be a good way to correct positively without "getting" on someone!
When my Hubby and his team came back from Iraq...we were getting ready to leave the airport. They were in there uniforms and we had had he "initial allowed" kind of longer PDA greeting (LOL). So one guy was still hugging his GF and hubby was going to give them a debrief and said, "Gather up...and someone get a stick and hose for #####." A "humoruos" reminder that he should be "done". LOL
I doubt it too ;-)
Good night all! Blue candles lit tonight!
