Here is the link to your PIR photos from RTC FB:
I will create a discussion up above so they don't get "lost".
Been asleep pretty much since I got home yesterday afternoon-sooooo tired, but sooooo worth it! I just had to get on and thank everyone for their offers of help and especially those that did help. Thank you so much to crlmltn and her family for the ride from the airport to my hotel. Beyond grateful! My biggest thank you goes to Sarge. He was a godsend to me with transportation, advice and knowledge. My son is to be on Ship 17 on medi hold until April and hoping Sarge will help him out if he needs him. I really wish I had found Navy4Moms much sooner because you all have been such a great comfort and haven for me. My stress level fell so much with all of your concern, advice and comfort when I was afraid my son would not make it to PIR. I loved the time I got to have with my son and I would not trade it for anything even though it is bittersweet. I wanted to bring him home with me so bad! Just felt strange to leave him there!
I have a friend whose son will be going to RTC in August. I told her to join Navy4Moms now.
Once my son has moved onto his A school I will definitely be joining the group.
TrumbullCT: Google "HSL in the Navy" and lots of info comes up. I will see if I can find a group on this site for you, but this is a "new term" to me. Have you asked on the Pensacola A School group? Someone on there may know.
I am well aware that Nuke schooling is very tough. I really hope he is cut out for it. I wouldn't have any doubts other than his senior year he kind of slacked off. I am hoping that he will take this more serious seeing as it will be the thing he will doing for the rest of his life. I understand they will have little to no free time during the week. I am planning on visiting him for a weekend in May, June, and July. I am so excited. It will be the first time I will actually see him in person since he left in January. He isn't too keen on staying there any longer either. He said they should have them done very soon though. I just hope he gets done in time so he isn't pushed back into the next A school group.
Thank you diannep :)
Hi, Right now my son is in A school down in Pensacola, FL. He was assigned to a helicopter anti-submarine squadron in Jacksonville, FL (HSL). Does anyone know what this squadron does exactly? I couldn't find a group for this on N4M.com. Does anyone know if there is one? Thanks for letting me know.
Sorry, 2nd link below isn't correct. Just to go "Group" tab and put in:
