Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Comment by bahkmom09/86 on February 17, 2012 at 12:38pm: Good morning....we also received a letter yesterday. My son said it was Thursday the 9th and it was mandatory letter writing day. He said they would be going for haircuts the next day. He also said that they had lost 2 from his division....one for medical reasons and the second because it all became too much! Other than that it sounds like things are going well!

It seems for some reason several people are getting letters a day later than normal and that is true in other divisions as well. So hopefully today will be a good letter day :-)

Comment by harpist mom on February 17, 2012 at 8:56am: Ladies, YES!!! FINALLY!!! I got mail yesterday!!! I was so excited when I saw the letter in the mail. I was happy when I would hear about all the other moms and girlfriends getting mail, but a little sad since I had only had the form letter and one short letter. Well, yesterday I hit the jackpot! My son returned the survey that I had sent him, and his responses were HILARIOUS! Thank you to the ladies who brought my attention to it. The letter was written during Feb 7 - 10th and communicated what we had been wondering: how he was doing, what his job was, etc. He did say we might not hear from him this week because it was hell week. I am still smiling today!
