Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I have not received much information from my son, so I am getting some useful information from all of you. I have only had one phone call from him, except the ones about info for his security clearance. Keep it coming!

Comment by AmyaodRN on February 16, 2012 at 1:42pm: So happy for everyone getting letters!! I got 2 envelopes with letters FROM him and then 2 overstuffed envelopes with letters TO him, lol. He made sure to tell me not to slow the letter writing down. He was disappointed because they did not get rewarded with a phone call following Marlinspike. They got 4 safety hits, but got 9.5 out of 10.

It's hell week (he gave me his whole schedule for the week). And I will try to make time to write to you this week" letter. I can't complain about only getting one letter today, though, seeing as I already got two on Monday.

Comment by ddd - Ship 11 Div 082 on February 16, 2012 at 12:05pm: I haven't heard from my daughter since her phone call on 2/3/12 and her first batch of letters on 2/2/12. Patiently (impatiently) waiting to hear from her again! So did Div 081/082 do their 2nd PT assessments?

And my SR's letter showed an amazing transformation from desperate, please write me letters, to an uplifting, we are a team, and we have just tests and Battlestations to go type letter. Wonderful!
