Oh, the best of days here! The letter arrived from my son, my daughter in law received hers yesterday, and today my daughter and granddaughter came for a visit. I'm sending the pictures to my SR in my letter today. And the DIL received her military ID today as well and was delighted to go shopping in NEX. Yep, can't get better than this! Well, except for PIR when we all get together for a brief moment. But the great thing is, PCola is a quick drive from here and visits will happen in the spring :-)

Me, my wife, our 5yr old & grandpa will attend the Sarge's meet & greet to show our support to all. Is any one from SHIP-9 / DIV 85 going?

Good morning, all.  So glad that the letters and calls some of you are getting are easing the sadness/anxiety of them being gone.  As PIR approaches, you will find yourselves getting more and more excited to see your new sailors!

The letters do help, just knowing what they are going through and how they are doing. My daughter cracks me up every time! This is the first set of letters where I didn't cry when I read them. My daughter seems pretty happy with the choice she made - says that it has really made her grow up.

Glad to hear yours is doing better now Amy, I know they have been having fun with the weapons turnover (according to my daughter's letter).

That is a lot of airline tickets i hope you were able to find a great deal. Southwest has some amazing deals right now. If you can  fly from one of the locations where the deals are :-)

Im feeling soooo much better now that im receiving more mail from my SR.... and the 20 minute phonecall last monday made my day!!! She is homesick but hanging in there,... she is not happy that they cut her hair though..lol ... Im also relieved that we have finally purchased our 5 airline tix to see my baby graduate!! Cant wait!!! 28 days and counting!!!
