Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Comment by diannep on February 8, 2012 at 8:48am: ehuds: I assume you mean sending postcards to your SRs? If so, we recommend that you may want to enclose them in envelopes, just for privacy! Unless it doesn't matter who reads what is written on it..meaning .very generic.

I noticed a lot of people had it wrong today because they wrote a sentence instead of just putting the 2 dates they were looking for...some people only had half the answer. They are training us moms to be as detail oriented as our recruits!

I KNOW I had the right answer very quickly, but I don't think I posted it in the correct place. SOMEONE please tell me what I did wrong if you know... LOL. I'm determined to get it next week! Still so happy from my SR's phone call yesterday!

He passed his swim test with ease...did not pass the run..missed it by 30 sec so he should be able to make that easily in the next one. My son also misses his father's breakfast sandwiches but he said the food there was good.

(Yeah, my husband is an incredible cook!) It made so much anxiety disappear, and I hope everyone else gets their phone calls. Can't wait for the mailman on Wednesday, and another phone call soon. Don't want to be greedy, but, well, that call was music to my ears!
