Proud of our Navy SEALS and the rescue that they made last night! HOOYAH!
No, I have not received any letters. My son wrote a note on the form letter indicating that there had not been any time allowed to write. He said he had not received any of my letters either, and I had mailed at least four, along with mail from other family and friends. I hope he gets his mail soon. Based on yesterday's brief phone call, it sounds like he could use some encouragement!
Bahkmom, thanks!! It would be easier for me to stick with AT&T but I wondered if Verizon might be better. My son's recruiter said he would do well at BC but that Nuke School was going to "kick his butt". (I think that's recruiter lingo) lol
It is so difficult being out of touch with him. I can't wait to hand him a new phone and make him promise to call me all the time!! Thanks for the info. Congrats to your Nuke and SR.
Has anyone gotten any letters yet besides the form letter? I have been very impatiently waiting!
Bahkmom...I'm jumping ahead of myself--can't wait for PIR but then my son is going to Nuke school in Charleston and I see your oldest went there. I want to get my son a new cell phone for graduation but I'm concerned about the cell phone providers in Charleston. We have AT&T but have had bad cell service in many parts of the country. Can you tell me anything about the cell service there? Thanks! Congrats to both your son...(btw, my son is in Ship 9/Div 087--hope to see you at graduation!!)
Good morning everyone.
Diannep...I am happy to start the discussion for Div 087 but I have not received the form letter yet with a firm PIR date. Will that list be out today? Has anyone else in whose son/daughter in Div 087 received a letter?
I know I have seen the FB info on one of these discussions and now cannot locate it. Could someone please provide it again? Thanks!
Lala....it is also amazing what you learn on Facebook!
Good morning all!
My daughter also got married during A-school at the court house and did not tell us. We googled and found out because we suspected lol. 4 days after they got married he left for bootcamp. They are supposed to get permission to get married no matter where they are. I have seen I thiink 3 couples on this site who were married right after bootcamp but it is a huge No No. The have to get permission and it is not easy to get for PIR weekend. I have been told there have to be extenuating circumstances. If they fly out the next day then I don't think it can be done at all because I believe you have to wait 24 hours after you get the marriage license. Just make sure the recruit jumps through all the hoops to get permission before hand.
