~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hmmmm.....not seeing the Ramada MeetandGreet posted in the Events column. I'm wondering if they still have it?
KYMom: There are 2 shuttle services for PIR: The area taxi service operating as shuttles for PIR, which you book when you check into your hotel (select your time) and Sarge's taxi shuttle service. Both are $3/pp each way. You pick them back up in a designated area. Some of the drivers, especially Sarge's, may give you their cell numbers to call them when you are ready to leave. We had no problem picking up a shuttle to return to our hotel. The shuttles return to the hotels for a couple of hours after PIR is over. Your sailor can ride back with you....unless you have a sailor moving over to GL for A School. In that case, that is done shortly after PIR is over and takes a few hours. You will leave RTC and return to GL A School base (nearby) later that afternoon to get your sailor for Liberty.
Diana: Sarge has a MeetandGreet so that all of you can not only meet each other, but also have a nice meal (free to you, but donations accepted since he/wife pay for this out of pocket each week) and get lots of helpful info for the weekend. It is from 5:30 - 9 pm the night before PIR---in the area near the Springhill Suites, Courtyard Inn, Residence Inn, Holiday Inn Express...near a huge Walmart shopping center that has restaurants, etc.. It is open to all family members/friends of the sailors, including children. He will eventually post info in the EVENTS column to the right of this page (hit View All to check for your date). You can RSVP from his page then just so he can plan the food.
Ramada also has a MeetandGreet, but it is much smaller and won't have the info that Sarge's does.
Does anyone know how the shuttle works? I understand about riding in to PIR but what about afterwards? Does it leave at different times? Do you have to reserve a place? Can our SR's leave with us (if they have liberty) or do we have to come back & pick them up?
Thank you ladies, that help a lot. I really appreciate your feedback on the car thing.
