I realize it is distressing for another SR to be dishonest, but your SR daughter stood up for herself and I hope that was cleared up.  It is a sad fact that the Navy is just like regular society in that there are all kinds of people there and you just have to watch out for yourself~~

The purpose of "hits" is to get the SRs to pay attention to detail.  One day a small detail is going to make all the difference!!

MamaBear, Don't worry about the "hit" (not physical) there are dozens and dozens handed out in BC, it is a learning tool. Recruits can get a hit for not folding their blanket just so, a hit for gear adrift (even a small thread sticking out), etc.

My son had several "hits" in the first couple of weeks of BC for not shaving in the morning. The RDCs in the afternoon would look at him see the five o'clock shadow, and ask if he had shaved. He would of course reply "Yes Chief", but would still take a hit for "not shaving" He eventually started shaving twice a day, and got "caught".

When asked why he was just now shaving (words not verbatim) "Chief to be honest, this is the second time I have shaved today, and I am tired of getting hits for not shaving, so I am going to try and shave twice a day." The RDC replied something to the effect, "Well recruit, that is not necessary we will just call you Wolfman", and they did. He went through the rest of BC as Wolfman, Chewbacca, Sasquatch,  etc., but he didn't take another hit in BC for not shaving. :)

Moral of the story, don't worry about it too much it happens. They learn from them whether a personal hit or a compartmental hit. It is all good! :)

Good Morning beautiful Mommas!!  I also received a letter from my girl, also short and she did say it was because it was written during Hell Week and they didn't have enough time.  I am a little down today because she said that their Div. got a Compartment Hit, and what she says is that she and another girl were doing "Watch" I guess one guards the door and the other walks up and down to secure permises, well she says there's a certain way to write the information down and also to correct if needed.  She tells me that she had everything correct, then the other girl (she mentioned that this other girl is her supervisor) made a mistake and that the Rover (the one who checks) caught the mistake and it went under my daughter's name.  She was extremely furious, but that she talked to her Commanders (I guess) and they understood it wasn't her fault. 

Either way, she was very upset, I'm upset (mostly down) because of this and other issues pilling up at home...  I just ask that you keep them in your prayers, and the following tests they have they come out Victorious!!

BrownEyedMomma:  Your SR's division/brother division will be going through BattleStations last.  So it will be during PIR week for your SR.  And, true, very few are allowed to call this close to BattleStations.  Some may get a call after Captains Cup next Sat., but usually not.  However, that next call will be a fantastic one!  This PIR group will be starting BattleStations next Thurs night for some divisions.  The rest will do theirs during PIR week (over 3 nights total).

My SR is in ship 3 Div 176 and we got a letter yesterday. It was a good letter but she said they probably won't get any more phone calls until after battle stations. They are on 5-3 so they should be doing battle stations by this time next week. Sorry to share that we probably won't get any more calls but I figured it was better to know than to wait by the phone on the weekend and be disappointed.

Good morning! I got another letter from my boy yesterday. They are always short but sweet! I can't believe it's almost here. Praying for all of them every day for success and strength to make it to PIR :)
