Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Good Morning Everyone! I hope all are doing well. Just encourage your family & friends to write encouraging letters. They need all the support that they can get while in BC. My son sounded really good and was very pleased. It seems that he is fitting in very well. Happy mama!

So true, Lisaz: They break them down and then build them back up, usually starting around Training Week 4. So keep encouraging, ladies, because it does get better for them! The changes in them are for the good....they are still the same people that you sent off to bootcamp, but even better!

With my last daughter I just wrote how proud we are and that she can do it and hang in there it gets better and I'm telling you when I got that call last year it felt awful but then the turn around was so fast she called a week after and she sounded happy just supportive things that's all. She told me after boot camp she didn't know why she cried like that and that it wasn't that bad, I told her it was a big change and you were homesick it's ok to have felt that don't feel bad lol that is what they do to them they are breaking them down and my daughter thought that they wouldn't do it to her well they did and I'm proud that she went through it all now it makes them so much stronger and they really did change her for the better I hope this helps a little

Darlene, I kind of have an inkling of how you feel. I got a call from my SR yesterday and he was a little emotional (we both were). Anyone have any advice on what to write or send to cheer up your SR?

I got my SR's letters today!! Says he is a section leader 1 for Division 178 and I'm a proud GF. He also mentioned that bootcamp isn't that bad. I'm so happy and so relieved to receive his letters. Almost there everyone!! :)

Hey Darlene that was how my first daughter was then the next week she was good it will be fine she's just a little home sick hope your ok I know how it feels hang in there she will be ok my daughters in that div too I hope she will help her out:)
