Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

We just returned from a 2 week vacation spanning from Key West FL to Niagara Falls Canada to Boston Mass which included our Sailor's PIR in GL IL of course! What a wonderful experience, so proud of our son! He did very well in all his testing and received the pin for Sharp Shooter. He is now at A school and has made great friendships from his division at BC going forward into A school. He should be done with phase I and enjoying some free time when he can get it and hopefully class up by the end of this month. Thank you for all your support here and will continue to keep in touch with our Navy family at A School sites. Thank you to the admins for all the information and guidance! Bravo Zulu to Sailor and all his fellow PIR Sailors of 6/12/15.

Good morning everyone, I just want to thank all of you for your posts. I didn't post much but it was good to read other posts and to know that other SR moms felt exactly the same way I did. Sad, anxious, happy at times, proud, etc. Just a big scary roller coaster ride. I'm glad to be off of this one and on to the next one. I will miss reading your bible scriptures catmom, they really helped me through. And graduation was awesome. Thanks again.
