for
~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Just printed our gate pass for PIR !!!
Good Morning PIR Group! 13 days and looks pretty nice there in Waukegan! Hoping all the divisions are progressing well and we hear from our SR on Saturday, kind of gettng used to it :)
Our SR's 92 year old great grandmother who overall was pretty healthy up to a few weeks ago is in the hospital with a weak heart. Sadly she may not make it long and we are a very close family. I believe they said we should wait for sad/bad news till after PIR so not to lose their concentration. Although my son would be sad to hear this, I don't think it would jeopardize his performance or graduation. But he may want to know. It's not that long till PIR and unless they allow him to go on Facebook and send a message for her, I don't think it would do any good anyway, but also want to be honest with him. What would you do?
Good Morning!
Happy Friday!!
"We have this hope as an anchor for the soul,
firm and secure."
Hebrews 6:19a
Chances, I promise they get the opportunity to update their guest list. It usually happens about ten days to two weeks before PIR.
If your recruits didn't get to do that, there would be dogs names, a few hundred "Grandpa and Grandmas", many more "Mom and Dads", a few "Another Friend", "My brothers", "Aunt ___ and Uncle ____", etc. on the final list.
You won't get any confirmation from your recruit, but do make sure they know who is coming. The name on the list must match your ID's. Kathy Smith may work for Katherine Smith, but Mack Smith probably won't work for Mitchell Smith.
Also, the guide clearly states not to contact RTC directly. All communication for guests lists go directly through the recruit.
Read the Family Guide:
No additions, deletions or changes will be made to the access list the week of graduation.
Let's hope that the last three letters to him spelling out who to put on the list got the message across. LOL
DB74: If your sailor leaves from Ohare, it is the Ohare Hilton. It is actually located inside the airport. They have a "day rate" for those who want personal space to hang out in prior to flights. Some sailors will be leaving from Midway.
