N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

memeGaronsMom, Your recruit will have the opportunity to "fix: the names on the guest list in the last couple of weeks of BC. No worries, just be sure to let your recruit know who is coming, and give him/her proper names.

Division discussions for this group will me added in the next day or so. You can then sort out who is which and where. :)

You do not need to add the Ship name to the address, it is not essential.

Morning. What is the Procedure for getting actual names on guest list& not just Mom,Sister etc.

Absolutely - but the RDCs have a stake in this as well. Can't imagine much has changed in the way of "motivational training."  It was a proven attitude adjuster, so if necessary, there is always an option of them calling an "All Hands" of other RDCs to provide very close, individual counseling for the hard of hearing.  Amazing how quickly things get on track.  It's like magic.  But it truly works on the problem areas (problem recruits).  The RDCs only have a given period of time to train (no add on time for growing pains), and they need to move along and stay on schedule.  No worries, they all survive just fine.

I was never in the Navy but the police academy. The catalyst for the change will be the other SRs, the ones who are taking  it seriously and are having to deal with the extra scrutiny or losing privileges. That gets old fast. They will gel soon, they have no choice.

Good Morning!

My husband told me the same thing about div 213. Just encourage everyone to behave and be respectful. I don't want the entire group to be continually punished for a couple of guys being disrespectful.

ChiefMum,

This is great that you can give an inside look at what the SRs go through and know what to expect!  There are definitely major transformations happening at Boot Camp~~
