~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

marriedahoosier, will do! Should I mention a cost per ticket for the basket auction?
HA, cindyloohoo: Don't think your post will get her extra pushups, but if it does, just think how much more "buff" she will look at PIR! Strong and mighty! :-) Hoping that when she comes home on Leave, she will demonstrate her newly acquired Head Head Cleaner skills in your bathrooms! :-)
Good Morning All !
My flight and hotel are booked, too. I'm so excited! 31 more days!
Hi Cindyloohoo--my SR still hasn't gotten the lyrics or cadences--he also refused to share his trombone and six years of band with the navy--it has been three years since he played...some of the cadences were traditional military cadences and I also sent the ones from the movie Stripes, then just some song lyrics of various songs--a website for women in the navy shared they used the song Manic Monday by the Bangles as a cadence....sounds interesting
Okay, here goes! If she has to do push-ups, i'll blame you Diannep! HA! So, she's her Marching Division Leader and Head Head Cleaner! (which the latter strikes me and hubby as so funny since she's never cleaned a bathroom without lots of correction!) but i guess it allows for extra shower time so it must be worth it. As far as Marching Leader, so proud but I know how those titles and responsibiities are given and taken away with the smallest infraction so I'm hoping every day that she can hold that responsilbity to make it through to PIR so she'll be right up front...woot!!! She was in band her high school years as a drummer so I'm hopping those cadences you're sending out Shirleyann are helping the cause and keeping them positive!!
Cindyloohoo: It is fine to share the responsibilities of your daughter on here if you want to!
Yes, Kaleigh'sGramma...it does seem strange! Hoping that she can mail another letter or get to that original one....but at least get you the password.
The RTC will not give out password info, Cindyloohoo. They will tell you you need to get it from your SR. But there is still time....so no need for her to worry about it. If a person take the shuttle to PIR, they don't need the pass. If you return your sailor to the base that night, with no pass, you would drop her off at the front gate. So really, although it is nice to have, it is not an absolute requirement. Even some driving to PIR can park in the train station (paid parking) and walk over to RTC (next door) if they don't have the gate pass to get on base.
