N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Diannep & FTLW,

It's was like you were twins about an hour ago!

Dang diannep...we posted similar thoughts!

Melissa:  I truly think the bedbug thing at Navy Lodge is an isolated thing.  We have never had reports of this in the over 3 yrs I have been on these groups.  I know they just finished some remodeling there too.

Lala and FTLW (maybe ellen too?) stayed there so maybe they can put your mind at ease.  But if you are still concerned, you may want to try one of the other hotels I mentioned.

Comment by FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW on May 13, 2013 at 7:06pm

It's a good sized group.

If I HAD to pick an average (of late anyways) it would be 11.

We have had PIR Groups as low as 4 and as high as 15.

The one with only four (two regular, one 800 and one 900) was on a Thanksgiving PIR week.

We usually see the 14-15's in the summer early fall due to the Summer surge that RTC experiences.

Thirteen is not uncommon.

Kim:  The number of divisions in a PIR group can range from as low as 4 (rare but it did happen once) to 14 or so.  The average number is normally 9-12.  The SRs starting to get up there in the next month or so will find that their PIR groups will be large as the "summer influx" (those graduating high school and going into the Navy) hits bootcamp.

Be thankful that this group stopped at 12 divisions because if it had 13 divisions, each sailor would only be allowed 3 guests at PIR rather than 4!  :-)

Comment by KimS on May 13, 2013 at 6:53pm
Is 12 divisions the usual number?

I have updated the title of this group:

TG 33 - 12 Divisions (237-246, 814 and 933) Graduate Friday, June 28, 2013. Each recruit will be permitted 4 guests.

We will make your Division Discussions within this PIR group today at some point.
Comment by Navymom21 on May 13, 2013 at 5:52pm

Oh wow! And I believe there is a 900 and 800 division. His letter said he was permitted 4 guests. Is this still correct or will that change?

Do we know how many divisions are in this TG?
