I'll say it here too, Congrats to Jess and Grant!!!! I had a feeling he was making you sweat just to psych you out. My Sailor replicated our first date on our second anniversary, everyone knew what was going on and he hid the ring box on his sock, to make sure I wouldn't find it in his pocket. Then I ran away to go audition for American Idol the next day, lol. Proposals are always so wonderful! So happy for you two!

Grant's mom should memorize that saying.

They say, "A son is a son until he takes a wife . . . a daughter is a daughter for the rest of her life."  I think moms might do well to ponder that old saying!

Thanks everyone! I'm thrilled. He left an hour ago, that was even harder than last time. We did tell all the family, the dads were thrilled, (we were really surprised!) As soon as we said "we're engaged" his mom hung up. I kind of expected that. She called back to yell at him for "ruining his life" later, but we expected that too; didn't let it get us down! Mine said she is happy for me and likes grant and is glad I told her. His sister was the first one I called, she was so happy she about cried!

Jessica, Lovemynavyson had wonderful advice for you.  I can't improve on it other than to ask you to go back and re-read her posting.  Grant is smart and has Nuke school to get through.  He has asked you to marry him.  That's a biggie. Congrats!  He obviously loves you, but please give him support to get through all the nuke school stuff he has to get through yet.  I'm so happy for the two of you and hope and pray that you will make it through the long term in the great scheme of things.  Best wishes!!!

Congrats Jess - Beautfiul ring...I pray and hope you have many happy years together and that you will fair well throught all the storms that will come your way with destructive forces..Raise above it and take the high road.....be blessed with strength, courage, perseverence, and endurance to make it through to the other side in everything that you face as a couple! It will be worth all the joy in years to come...as you grow old together. People change, love Grant through the changes and understand that it is a part of life. Stand by him and give him space to live and grow as a man that will love you and share all that he has with you as you begin your journey together as a couple!!!
