I wish we had some more time, they should give people the weekend. Being away I'm getting used to, lack of communication I'm getting used to, my friends and family thinking I'm crazy I'm getting used to, his family hating me I'm getting used to, but it is just so hard to accept the fact that we will have barely any time together before he leaves again. :\

My SR wrote that his 1st and 2nd RDCs were ok, but the 3rd was a real drill instructor, hardcore.  Then on the part of the questionnaire where it asked if he needed anything from me, he put "jerky for thrd RDC".  Knowing my son, I'm wondering if he's serious or being sarcastic and wanting jerky for the "jerk".  Yeah, that's the kind of kid I raised lol.

Jessica - mine is leaving early Saturday for SC as well, which is why we decided for me not to go to PIR.  I'm planning a visit once he gets settled in A school.

JessicaB ~ My SR is going to Pensacola, leaving Sunday after graduation. How about yours?

mominva:  Exactly why we veterans tell you all to try and book through the weekend just in case!  In the 5/26 group, some of those divisions had theirs changed last minute so they were there for the weekend.  Hopefully all of their family/friends had heeded our advice!  :-)

For those who have to leave on Sat., try and make your resevations later in the day so you can spend time with your sailors, even if they leave out on Sat.  My son's flight didn't leave until around noon on Sat...some of them leave later.  Plus, if you happen to be flying out of an airport other than the one they are, you will have time to get over to your own after spending time with your sailor.

No, Moliana:  If you send it, his 3rd RDC will eat it!  BUT....to maybe keep him from doing IT for receiving it, you might want to label it "For the wonderful RDCs of Div 216"!  I would imagine he would be allowed to keep the pens...especially with the jerky gifts to his "bosses."  :-)

YEA!!! So glad you got a letter Moliana! I got one too! I dont know about sending pens and jerky! lol. It would be my luck mine would have IT if I did it...lol. On the other hand, if it would help him out...hummmmm...I don't know! So glad your son sounds good to you, though. Mine had 2w teeth pulled and 1 cut out. He's doing great too!!!!

Heard from my SR again yesterday! He said he is definately leaving on Sunday for A school. Unfortunately I got reservations to go home at 12noon on Saturday. So, everyone doesn't leave on Friday and Saturday! If you haven't already made reservations you may want to wait until you hear from your SR. I wish I would have! It cost's $150 to change each ticket on American Airlines! Geez....
