Alright... got letters today, one for each of us, so three all together.  My husband is such a sweetheart to write the girls their own letter each in their own envelope (he also knows I'm a scrapbooker :)

Minor melt down though, half my letter was all about how he was going to get a phone call on tuesday and how excited he was and how for now he was just living for tuesdays phone call.... which he never got to make. I've done a pretty good job of not crying really, but I lost it.... then the kids were crying too, even the 11 month old, haha!  Which when she started crying it made me and our five year old laugh!   Soo, we're doing fine now.  He had alot of other good things to say.  He said sunday's are his least favorite day because they go by so slow, he said the other days fly by.  He got his wisdom teeth pulled and said he had NO pain during or even after.  He also said he's been having to open his letters from me infront of everyone since I've been putting pictures in his letter, making sure they aren't dirty pics, haha!  I feel like taking a pic of my kids holding a sign saying "Be nice to my daddy, a call would be nice too, please :)"

My daughter is a stick carrier (so different from 28 yrs ago) and assigned to head detail, YES!!!!!

mominva:   I would think that in addition to being a "stick" (flag carrier) they would have other "jobs" during bc, but not sure.

esther:  My son was ships staff and he said he did lots of cleaning!

Anyone know if carrying the flag for graduation is a job or just an extra duty?

Jessica - This is extremely dated, but this will give you a basic of what all the recruits are.  Like I said, it's really out of date, so be careful when you read stuff, and you need to substitute the new word for the old words...

I'm actually surprised it not in the Recruit Trainee Manual. But here is a copy that can answer alot more questions you ladies have.

alright, thanks, I don't think my husband is one of those.. he didn't act like he had a title or anything, just said his job was cool and got him out of pt and class for at least 2 hours every day sometimes more.  My husbands not lazy, I hope I'm not making him sound that way.  That's just how he described what he was doing.

It means they are the leaders in different areas. Here is a list of them (I know I probably missed one)

Recruit Chief Petty Officer (RPOC)
Assistant recruit chief petty officer/ Assistant recruit officer in charge (AROC)
Recruit Leading Petty Officer
Recruit Master-at-Arms
Port and Starboard Watch Section Leaders
Recruit Yeoman
Recruit Medical Yeoman
Recruit Dental Yeoman

Hey Craig... do you know what ships staff is??  My husband said he's working right outside all the officers offices?  And has to talk on an intercom??
