This morning the children/youth of our church did a tribute to our military.  I guess I can say I've always KNOWN what Memorial Day means... but it never was AS PERSONAL as it is now, with my own daughter in the Navy now.  As I watched my son, who played the lead soldier, giving his life for his country and his GOD, I found myself crying... thinking of my daughter and all of our 'kids' who are at BC right now learning to be the BEST Sailors they can be and go on to defend our country in what ever facets that may be.  Here is a photo of my son.... saluting in honor of his sister SR Thompson! God Bless our kids as they get through BC and on to being a real SAILOR!

katiesmom:  You are hysterical!  You sound like a fun lady to hang out with...if anyone is having a "down day," contact katiesmom...she'll have you laughing in no time!  :-)  Love the "practice" hubby idea.....I hope you wrote him a "thank you" note since he prepared you for your "real" hubby...maybe you can send him some flowers...

Hey there, I found this online and thought you all would like it(:

You know you are missing a sailor WHEN
You sleep with your cell phone in case he calls in the middle of the night
The mailman knows you because you are always out waiting for him to come
You frequent the post office so much the staff knows your name
You make friends with strangers online just because they are in the same situation as you and are the only ones that can truly understand what you are going through
You find yourself checking your FB every fifteen minutes
The highlight of your day is getting a letter that was mailed a week ago and if you don't get a letter, the highlight of your day is writing him a letter that you know he will be able to read in a week
You get excited about unknown or Chicago phone numbers calling you
You find yourself randomly crying and you sometimes have no idea why
You stay on the internet for hours searching for anything and everything about the military
You are reading this and smiling and nodding because you know its so true♥

Has anyone stayed at the Quality Inn in Waukegan before?  It says they are 3 miles from base and they have a shuttle to PIR...any comments??

Yeah, I switched to Firefox over a year ago and I hate Internet Exployer. Firefox works so much better for me :-)

Good idea on the water bottle.  I am one who never gets sick, and my sailor was not sick at PIR...but I came back from PIR with a little "something" that took my voice away for a few days.

Linda, I definitely will, my boyfriend is in 932 choir(:

Great idea on printing out these pages! My husband was reading where it is recommended for each family member to include your Sailor to have their own water bottle, don't share anything. Also, lots of hand santitizer for use. I'm going to start on my Vit C now, I've got the rest covered, hopefully!
