ConnieC - that is just so wonderful.  I'm so glad you got to speak with your daughter and that all is well.  I just sent my son one of the bulkiest envelopes I dared sending him - it has a ziplock bag to store his received mail because he told me he saved the letters to re-read.  I sincerely hope the ziplock bag is allowed and doesn't get anyone in trouble.  Everyone is so great on this forum - wonderful sense of humor and supportive!  Can't wait to meet y'all!

We have all been "that" mom lol.

She sent her wallet home too. I also sent her big bandaids for her ankles and the RDC made her open the card because it was bulky, she said "WTH" and then laughed. I asked if she got in trouble for it, she said no! She also said that their Div has been adopted, I am so hoping that it is Angie's work that got them! She sounded so wonderful and only had a short little weepy moment. My heart is overflowing. Thank you all for encouraging words when I became "That" Mom lol

YAH, Connie!  Just read your post....letters from home received!  HOOYAH!
Comment by diannep on May 28, 2011 at 4:17pm

ConnieC:  I bet your letters are there...lost in the Navy mail system!  He probably will get them all at one time!

katiesmom:  HAAAA...on the blonde reference!  FUNNY!  And....I AM blonde but I think that was hilarious!  I think that the SRs get so rattled when they first get there, having orders shouted at them, that they just throw everything in there...even if they THINK they can keep it...they don't dare ask!  I read about phone cards coming home all the time on this site...wallets too even though they are allowed to keep those.

Comment by ConnieC on May 28, 2011 at 4:06pm

OK, you all can start to talk about phone calls and letters because my GIRL IS ON THE PHONE RIGHT NOW!!!!

She was sick the day they got to call!  And she has gotten all of my letters.  She sounds so darn grown up.  Funny to hear her talk about SIQ and Chow, lol

Comment by ConnieC on May 28, 2011 at 3:52pm
Katie, I love it!  My dtr was born blonde but got progressively darker as she got older.  Then she started doing the color and it was Blonde until right before she left for BC, she had it colored Brown, hoping not to stand out, lol.

Thanks SGM, I would have thought that she would have purchased a card when they did their inital visit to the NEX and all I can think is that she didn't realize that the card was in the stuff she mailed home until it was too late.  I pray that she has gotten them.  Maybe this is God's way of allowing her to stand on her own and lean on others in her Division then on her Momma's shoulders.
