lol, no he didn't fire anyone and the new guy was laughing too when he found out he wasn't really sleeping with his wife lol, But I don't think he trusted anything they had taught him lol. I honestly think we would all be better off if we could speak several different languages but I don't think it should be a requirement for any job in America to speak anything other than English. You may have to move further North, NC mountains is a great area lol. I will be driving past you this summer when we honeymoon in the keys, taking the kids too lol. I can't wait but I know it will be very hot there in July. I will have to spend the entire 2 weeks in the water. Cool thing is it will be mini lobster season while we are there :-)

Ok, Lala;  Laughing outloud over that one!  So...did you ex fire anyone?  :-)  If you want to learn Spanish, just move down here where I am.  It is almost impossible now to even get a job in Miami without speaking it.  English is not a requiremed to live in Miami anymore; but Spanish is.  I have had lots in school, but really don't speak it.  That's because I'm rebelling...it would be easy to learn down here because it is all around.

As a 4th generation Miamian, I'm just in denial that I may have to either learn Spanish or leave my city....very sad.

Well I don't really remember very much of it at all, only had 1 yr in HS. The sad thing is I had 2 yrs of Spanish in college and can't speak that either. I am very good in a restaurant ordering food but that is about it. My fiance said all he needs to know how to say is dos cervesa por favor lol. My ex husband was a supervisor for a landscaping company. He had a Mexican crew who had worked for him for over a year and they were all pretty good buddies. They were teaching him how to speak Spanish and he had learned quite a bit. They had taught him how to say God Bless you, when someone sneezed. The whole crew played along with this and what they had really taught him to say was I am sleeping with your wife. They hired a new guy for the crew and before they even left the shop that morning the new guy sneezed and my ex said what he thought was God Bless you. The guy balled up his fists and headed straight towards him. The only thing that saved him was one of the guys blocked the punch, the others were laughing so hard they were laying on the ground. It was pretty funny lol.

My real name is Yvette, I felt obligated to learn French.  It didn't take long to realize that the French my grandma spoke was very different from what is taught in schools - she was cajun. lol.

I actually had four years in HS and one year in college, but 25+ years later I can only remember a little.

My french class was great. I took two years, A+ both times. I don't speak a word of French (do speak japanese though). our only french homework was to write each vocab word four times. As long as you did it you got an A (:

I used to hide behind the person in front of me during French class so the teacher wouldn't call on me!!!! lol. I never did learn French! lol
Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on May 27, 2011 at 10:40pm
That brings back memories lol, all I can remember are the things we learned that we were not allowed to say lol. And I probably don't say them correctly so I don't say anything at all :-)
