@ Sippie, I am so glad that Sailors wife answered concerning HM "A" school. I went to the Tri-Service website and didn't see much info. I really wished the Navy would make up their minds on and keep the schools in one location for awhile. Waste of money, although they will be training in a new building. I was a Dental Technician, I went to "A" and "C" school in San Diego. Then they moved the school to Wichita Falls. Can't remember how long it was there before they decided to merge the HM's and DT's, and moved it to GL's. Hoping this move will provide the HM's additional opportunity for advanced training. I just don't understand why they mo longer ask me my opinion lol.

I FOUND ANOTHER LETTER! with 4 inside! I got so excited I didn't look through the rest of the mail. I have some bad news for NUKE loved ones, they are leaving a few hours after PIR unless flights get full. Not what I wanted to hear.

Thank you! I'm so happy, I'm still crying and I've read the letters (two in one envelope!) about 4 times. This makes it a little better knowing he feels the same way about being away from each other, also he is the Education Petty Officer. OHHH!!! Who here has a 29 year old husband with kids who used to be a cop? Him and my boyfriend are great friends.

I GOT A LETTER!!!! best feeling in the world(:
Comment by diannep on May 24, 2011 at 3:42pm

As sailorwife said, the GradNGo term is very confusing now.  When my son was at bootcamp, it meant flying out the next day.  Now that term is Saturday Departure...and sometimes due to full flights they fly out on Sunday.

For a while there, RTC FB said that those moving over to GL right after PIR are the Grad N Gos.  But that got more confusing.  So we just say on here "those moving over to GL A School right after PIR" or "those flying out the next day."

Comment by corpsmanwifeschu on May 24, 2011 at 2:29pm

@Sippie, according the the RTC facebook page, they're trying to get rid of the term "Grad N Go" since it has meant different things over the years. Now, all Sailors either check in to A school in GL on Friday, or if flying out of state, should leave Saturday.

Corpsman A school is now in San Antonio, TX as of about April 15. I really wish it was still in GL, that would mean more liberty time.

I also agree with "Sippie Cup."

Any NUKES in general, have you heard anything about the ship out status? Please let DIV 932 loved ones know!

TL3: That is pretty much my biggest fear right now :\ So far I have not seen anyone from our division having received any info, I feel like this week we will find out. Unfortunately I feel like them leaving early is really likely.. at least we will be able to go to the airport.
