Where do I find the times and places for the meet and greets for PIR 7/1/11? Are they specific to different divisions or are they for all? My son is in Ship 04 Div 813.

Well, CT, hoping that it changes and you have at least PIR day with him...I know some from the 5/20 group going to Pensacola left the day after PIR...but like you said...they all leave at different times.  And flight availability is different every weekend.  Nobody should panic yet if your SR is going to Pensacola...I'm surprised they are telling them this early when they are leaving...they usually don't tell them anything until a few weeks before PIR.  So maybe things will change!

esther:  Sometimes the lower-numbered divisions can be GradNGo, sometimes not...sometimes just some sailors in the divisions are GradNGo. So as you can see, anythinig goes in the Navy!

Alright, well I'll still be a little hopeful for my husband then.  Someone mentioned somewhere that the lower divisions leave earlier than the higher ones?  Which makes NO sense at all to me, but my husband is 932, so I'm going to go with the above theory :)

He told me when he called last week.  I don't know how it's decided which ones go first. Like I mentioned earlier some leave right away and some going to the same area don't.He's in 216.  A while back it was mentioned (not sure what group it was) that leaving the same day was done away with.  I was..oh great..then when he told me he was a grad n go. his terminology and he'll leave right away  this mom was not thrilled.  I'm hoping he'll give me more details as things get closer.

ctmomof3~ My son is going to Pensacola, are you sure the leave on Friday? That is so dissapointing. I was hoping to get some time with him, at least Friday!!

Is there a meet and greet for every division? Does someone organize it or does it just happen? Is there one for PIR 7/1/11?
Comment by Paula (was Capricorna) on May 23, 2011 at 7:56pm

Each Division designs a Flag and that design is made available for printing on t-shirts.  Poseidon Sportswear is run by a woman who has access to RTC and each division flag.  If you'd like to order a sweatshirt/tshirt sometime in the next couple months, below is the link.  She says she needs about a month if you'd like to wear it to PIR.  She will keep the Division flag for a year in case you want to order it later on.  http://www.mwrgl.com/gen_info/rtc_graduation/div_tshirt_order_6_201...

Residence Inn has no more 2 bedroom suites for PIR weekend of 07/01/2011 :-<  I could use one and have booked Ramada Inn as 2nd choice because of the meet & green on Thursday nite.  Please plan on coming over there even if you stay elsewhere - it would be great to meet family in person!
