I called Residence Inn for reservations (check in 6/30) and they no longer have 2 bedroom suites available for that weekend.  Now I wish I had called as soon as I found out the PIR date.  Because of the 4th of July weekend, y'all might want to make your hotel reservations sooner than later.  I booked 2 rooms at the Ramada - they do require credit card number to guarantee the reservation, but you can cancel without penalty up to 24 hrs before check-in.

Yea Sunshine!!  Love the countdown Calender, that is perfect, now I don't have to use my brain cells trying to figure out how many more days!!  I am going to plan our Trip today, driving from NC and going to make the most out of it.  My husband hasn't had a real vacation in about 3 years!!

Wow!  I didn't realize there would be such responsibility when I accepted this job.  Just kidding.  Like I said, this stuff -- all of it -- is VERY new to me.  I think I finally have a countdown inserted on our page.  I hope it works for everyone.

Oh, and the reason they sometimes don't get it right away is that the recruit that delivers the mail has to be trained because it's an official position handling US mail - and they don't let just anyone handle the mail.

My son said the first couple of days was one very long day/night/day - they were kept up all night and "messed with", but they survived and slept well Thursday night.  I was just so amazed at how good he sounded.  I guess it's what he expected and he is dealing with it well.  I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that everyone gets something this week from their SRs!  It will make you feel so terrific!

Ah! Omigosh! I live out here too maybe I will get one tomorrow, that would make this so, SO much better. It's been really hard lately. Oh man, I hope 245pm tomorrow comes fast, ill be waiting on my porch for the mailman!

They're getting it!  I live in the Chicago area and got a letter today that my son wrote on Sunday and it was postmarked yesterday.  It was SO great to hear from him.  The letter was very upbeat and he sounded excited. He said things were hard, but not as hard as he expected and the PT was not as bad either.   He likes the food and said he is eating like a pig.  He mentioned things I had written in my letters, so I know he has them.  Great news ladies!

So, do you all think that our SR's have received their mail yet? I have written probably 10 letters now, but I am reading frightening things that sometimes the Recruits don't actually receive them for a few weeks for whatever reason? I'd be devastated if he wrote home sad about receiving no mail when I have sent so much.

Ok Dianne we are not related! I exercise because I have a big tush and love food lol. Plus I have a progressive disease and if I don't exercise I will lose my ability to move, so it is a love/hate relationship. I love that you pray when you walk, great quiet time to talk to God.

You GO, GIRL!  At 18, you should be RUNNING those 2 miles...no excuses!

ENJOY!  The walks will be great for your mom too!  We all need exercise to keep the ole ticker going and the blood flowing!  :-)
