surfguysmom:  Look up in the discussions above and see if "Jessica" posted picture info.  Pkg A is what we suggest because it includes The Keel (yearbook) for free if your SR orders (not if you do).  I believe it is $140.  Also, be sure and order the PIR DVD (mailed to you) which is $29. Your SR can order all of these.  If he has a credit card/debit card, he can pay for it. Otherwise, you can pay after PIR in the NEX.  I believe if you mail a check for him to use, it has to be from his account.  Here is the email address of the guy in charge of the pictures if you would like to confirm with him:

Don't ever worry about asking questions on here, even if they have been asked before!  We are always ready and willing to answer any that you have!

I just want to caution you all about using your SR's name on this site.  I know many of you have your SR's name as part of your screenname.  Although first names are not prohibited on here, we recommend that you don't use them.  RDCs DO read this site sometimes and it is better not to have a connection between you and your SR just so you can freely ask questions and talk about your SR without any consequences for your SR.  It's better to not have the profile pik with your SR in it either.  You can put piks on your page and make your page private, available only to those you are your "friends." Just a suggestion....we veterans have "stories to tell" of comments from this site getting back to the SRs (through the RDCs).  Sometimes in good fun, etc.  But believe me...the SRs don't want any attention like this brought to them!  Last names are strictly forbidden on this site so please don't post any SRs' last names.

Ship 02 / Div 933 group...do we want to start a group for our group?

Comment by ochaos on May 14, 2011 at 2:45pm
If you do not see a group above for your div start one as a place for fellow group members to get to know each other.

This site is for your support everyone to help with this new journey that your loved ones have embarked on.  Do not worry about connecting people to the moms/dads/etc.  They will make their own friends and you should also - some of you will get close and will meet and maybe the recruits will be friends and maybe they will not but try to keep them separated a little.  Be careful about sharing what is written here with your recruits as it could be taken the wrong way by someone there and then get back to someone here and have feelings hurt.  Use this site as support and learning and it will make the time fly by.  If your recruits become friends great. I have seen this happen in other groups.

Wow!  What a great group we're building.  This is awesome!

We'll have you there in spirit with us Sippie!  Have the baby a couple weeks early and bring the little one with!! :)  Sorry, only thing I could think of.... must be tough for you and for big sister, too not being able to be there when the new sibling arrives.  I'll be thinking of you all often and praying for ya!  Maybe our girls are friends, who knows!?  I'll have to ask her in a letter, we might figure it out by PIR!  haha

Thanks diannep for the photo/DVD info - That's going to be a "must have" for me!

Thanks Lala for your support.  Us newbies are going to need it!

Sippie, I know how you must be feeling. I have been a "step-mom" to my fiance's daughter for 4 years now. She is 16 yrs old and lives with us. She and I are very close. It is awesome to have such a special relationship with a very deserving young lady. Her dad and I are getting married June 25th so she will officially become my step-daughter even though she feels more like a daughter to me. Maybe you can have someone take a laptop with wireless to PIR and you can Skype either during the ceremony or with your Sailor right afterwords. :-)

sippie:  Make sure that if your daughter orders the PIR DVD or you all order it.  It is $29 and you will get to see her up close when they pass the "review stand."  She can order it when she orders her pictures.

By the way, ladies...remember that Pkg A on the pictures is a good deal.  It includes the yearbook (The Keel) for free if your SR orders that pkg.  I believe it is $140.  Be sure to ask them to order the PIR DVD too which is an extra $29.  I believe that JessicaBSailor has posted info about the photos/keel up in the discussions.
