OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Eric:  I agree with CatMom.  Sometimes when they are on hold like that, they can only have Liberty (daytime) through the weekend.  So she needs to check that out for you.

Mancy:  If he is staying in GL for A School, he will have Liberty PIR Day (after moving over to that base....takes a few hours), Sat, and Sun.....Daytime.  He must return to base each night, but usually not until 9 or 10 pm.

Will do CatMom509, good advice and I'll throw that at her in my next letter. I have a military ID card (100% DAV) with commissary, px, and MWR privileges and if I knew I'd see if I could do some camping there. I've never used it since it was issued to me.

Good Day, Friends!

Eric,

Please check into liberty privileges in this special situation.  I'm not sure she'll be able to come and go with you like on PIR weekend.  Your SR daughter needs to ask her RDCs to be really clear about this and whether she needs to fill out a chit (request for permission)~~

Good afternoon everyone, just received a letter from my daughter today (Ship 14 Division 218) and I couldn't be happier about what she told me, they went to classifications and her particular A School is in Virginia but she won't fly out for 9 days after she graduates. She's wanting me to make some extended stay arrangements. I certainly didn't expect that happen. She sounded great in her letter and in good spirits. She said they've mentioned pictures and are to be taken very soon. For anyone curious about that.

Hi everyone! My boyfriend is in Div 816, and I'm trying to plan all my reservations for PIR weekend. Before he left he seemed to think that they just have liberty the day of PIR, but since he's staying in Great Lakes I thought he would have liberty Saturday and Sunday as well. Does anyone here know the schedule for sure? Thanks!
