I received another call from my son this morning at 8:14 a.m. ET. He was given a 1 minute call to let me know he was promoted to E2 and may be promoted to E3 if he passed an exam they were going to give him.  He said it was based on points and for outstanding recruit.  I got so nervous when I saw an 847 number since I didn't think he would be able to call again and thought something was wrong.  So please do keep your phones close by even on week days and early in the morning.  You never know when they might call.

Great verse, elizabeth!

RTC has not listed this PIR group yet on their page, so no confirmation yet on the number of guests, but chances are, it will stay at 4.  We haven't had a PIR group with 13 or more divisions (which would be only 3 guests) in a very long time....so fingers crossed that your division number will be 12 or under and you will be allowed the 4 guests!

Comment by diannep on June 2, 2014 at 1:23pm

Kristin:  Sometimes they can call during the week so keep phones ready just in case.  But most of the calls will come on the weekend....

Emi:  I assume yours will be flying out.  I suggest you book back on Sunday, just in case your sailor doesn't fly out until Sunday.  Chances are it would be Saturday, but sometimes they go on Sundays.  So--- you don't want to miss any time.  If your sailor does leave on Saturday (won't know until shortly before PIR), then you can sightsee.  Chicago is a neat place to see!

For those with sailors staying in GL for A School, stay through the weekend since they have Liberty daytime throughout the weekend.

Oh I see what you are saying, I didn't think about that...Hopefully our letter is accurate! Wonder when TG 36 will be updated?

Comment by Selah on June 2, 2014 at 11:42am

Okay. From lemonelephant last post from Friday, I read that PIR 7/18 TG 36 is to be updated and it didn't list how many guests were allowed. My son's letter also shows 4 guests but I didn't know if 4 or 3 would be allowed.  I'll stop worrying. Haha

Comment by sailormom_fla on June 2, 2014 at 11:31am

Selah, the letter I received for PIR July 18 has 4 guests listed. My son is in Division 220.

Comment by Selah on June 2, 2014 at 11:26am

Do we know yet if TG 36 is allowed 4 guests? This begins with Div 219 and contains Div 936.
