CREATIVE: Praying for your SR and a speedy recovery.
KIDNOBEL: Yes, you can hand your new Sailor a smallish black (or I've heard Navy) backpack at the airport. All the A schools allow cell phones...but some may have different rules as to when they can use them. Maybe some of the others know specifics for Pensacola specifically. My son also has his iPod, and has ordered a new laptop which all are allowed right away at his base(Port Hueneme). We also put his electric razor in the bag at his request and some "civvies". Shorts, flip flops, belt, pants, all his own boxers. The civilian clothes they seem to want the most is their own underware. LOL. My son said at his base he can wear his "civvies" now but only in his own room. He can hardly wait to Phase up to Phase 3 so that he can wear his own civilian clothes around the base also...they even muster in them at Phase 3. By that time I'll probably have to send some long pants too. Again each base has it's own rules about what they can do in each phase. No one in our group have said anything about their Sailors not being able to use their phones and most of them went to SC, Pensacola or stayed in GL. Hopes that helps....Oh to make life easier I also sent my son with a tide stain pen and some Shout stain remover (I think they are called, Wipe & Go's). I had taken them in case their were any accidents while on Liberty after PIR. The Shout worked well on a pencil mark he'd gotten on his dress whites, I just sent the rest in his bag.
Bobbie my Sailor called at 2pm today and he is in 246, he said they did well. 246 was also one of the Captain Cup winners! Can't wait to see them!!
Does anyone know what they can take to A School in Pensacola?? I understand we can take cell phone to the airport, is this correct?? Can they have cell phone while in A School. Any help will be much appreciated. I have searched for web site but no luck
creative-Your daughter was in my son's division. We'll be praying for her quick recovery so she can continue her journey!
Congrats to Div. 245. My daughter however will not graduate as she is in Ship 04 which is where they go when medical problems. Please pray for her that her knees will get stronger and she too can graduate later. Have fun everyone and takes lots of pics for me. I sure wish I too was going to see my Sailor. CONGRATS TO ALL THE NEW SAILORS!! WOOT
