So, we are ready to hit the road but can't leave for another hour because we have to take the dog to the "Pet Hotel", which doesn't open until 8:00. Grrrrrrr! (That is ME growling, not the dog). haha
I can't wait to meet you... in Great Lakes... in 5 days... for PIR... at LONG LAST!!!
Safe travels, everyone. I'll keep checking in to see how you all are doing and for updates about THE Sailor calls that will be coming in the next few days!
Hey CorysNavyMom, No I am sure it won't matter that much about the head count. I was trying to get an approximate number. Like TerrysProudMom said all are invited. I'm sure there is no way to know for sure. I will tell them approximately how many and just go from there. From what I have read, if you stay there you get 2 free alcohol drinks or you have to buy all other. You can bring your own soft drinks which is probably what we will do. They are supposed to have appetizers for us. Then whoever wants to go to dinner after that we can call and make reserviations for that. I'm kind of in the dark myself.:.)
terrysaproudmom: Posting BS dates has popped up a few times over the past 10 mos or so. Originally, RTC told FB ladies that they shouldn't post because they want them to "start practicing OPSEC" and this is a good start. That is when we called up to RTC (another veteran did last Fall). She was told by the guy who posted this on FB that it was ok for N4Moms to continue posting the dates on here. He said it had been a problem on FB, where the ladies were loose-lipped and had last names exposed with division numbers.
I know it freaks some of the ladies out when RTC says this and then we are posting dates...because they think their SRs are at risk. They're not....it is a "practice" thing for when they are in the fleet. Because once in the fleet, keeping OPSEC in mind when posting is a matter of life or death for the sailors. But here...I don't believe so.
Having said, that, I am a rule abider and we questioned N4MomsAdmin on what we can do. They followed RTC's lead and said "don't post them." So I'm complying! We will no longer publicly post the dates.
I am pm-ing the dates that I have to the groups. I did this yesterday for this one. If anyone didn't get them, please message me and I will send again.
