We have a sailor! 243 calls going on right now!!!! YEAH!!! He said it was very intense and hasnt been to sleep since yesterday morning...he sounds tired, but good! I patched my mom into our phone call. Then I tried to patch dad and discomnnected them both. My stupid phone! He tried to call me back and I accidentally hung him up again. Im so frustrated. But we did get to hear him and we'll see our SAILOR in one week!!!!!!

They also have Navy rings at the NEX that the guys can have on base.  My Sailor wanted one but not really enough time to choose which one so said he will look at them while in A school and we'll get him one when he graduates as a Seabee

POSIE:  If you are going to the airport to see your Sailor off you can also give them something there...that avoids the RTC base.

LALA:  Where did you find the anchor crucifix?

We got our Sailor a lap top because he didn't have one.  It is on it's way to A school now.  He picked a really expensive one of course.  Did the same for the other son when he graduated from USC so we figured this was just as big a deal if not bigger!

Is there rules or a list on personal belongings he can take to A-School ?The only thing I was going to take is his phone and charger.

The black back is if they want to take personal belongings with them to A-school. They can only be in a black bag, which can be bought at NEX. I wrote my son and told him to buy one and have it ready for his stuff.

I am waiting for the call as well. This waiting is nerve racking ,yet I am so proud. I believe as long as nothing out of the ordinary happens  during BS he will pass. But getting to here his voice and him say he is a Sailor will be ??? no words come to mind.So here i wait like the rest of the proud loved ones of Div 244/243

I do have a question I have been reading about this black bag for the SR what is it for and is it a important for them to have.
