Gate passes are now available to print
The neat thing about your sailors when they enter the hall....for those of you in lower numbered divisions, you will be sitting down there closest to the door in your division section, as Lala mentioned....the sailors enter and circle the PIR Hall, changing formation at the end of the hall. They then will stop in front of you, but with their backs to you. All of you willl be thinking the same thing: TURN AROUND! Well...they allow that "feeling" to build in you...and then...the order is given! ABOUT FACE!
All I can say is....WOW! Have the kleenex close by for that moment! Remember as you look at these divisions at PIR...these men/women are all ages, from all different backgrounds, life experiences, purposes in joining the Navy, etc....yet....for that time...they all are on the same page as they march and stand in perfect unison. It just really struck me...and my thanks go not only to the sailors for accomplishing this...but to the RDCs and all of the work they put into each of these sailors...to get them where they are that day! HOOYAH!
they open the gates at 6:30, people will be lined up at that time waiting to get in.
And they do have the DIV numbers posted in front of the area where each DIV will stand to get the best view of your sailor. The 900's DIV also have a section to sit in although they don't stand in front of you. But if you have a recruit in band or choir, or drill team or flag corp that will be the best place to sit so you can see them and i recommend the lower level. The rails get in the way of pictures in the upper level.
