OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

They wear the Dress uniform all day on PIR day and they also travel/fly in the dress uniform. If they have A-school in Great Lakes they normally wear the peanut-butter uniform on Saturday and Sunday.

Hi, everyone.  There is a question on the FB page about what the new sailors will be wearing after graduation.  Will they be wearing the white uniforms all day Friday?  What about Saturday and Sunday?

That is a beautiful story Lala! Thank you for sharing. :)

As you can see I changed my profile picture in honor of the 9-11 anniversary. Today we honor and remember those who lost their lives on 9-11-2001. I will never forget that day as long as I live. I was teaching/subbing in a high school health sciences class. Someone called the classroom and said for us to turn on the TV because a plane had crashed into one of the towers. We turned it on and we were all standing there watching in horror as a second plane crashed into the other tower. As we learned on the news what was happening we were all very scared for all the people in those building and whet this meant for our country. A girl in my class came up in tears and asked if she could call her dad. He was a high ranking Marine who was home on leave and normally worked at the Pentagon. She knew that all this meant he would be leaving and she wanted to tell him how much she loved him and to say goodbye. She tried over and over to reach him and got no answer. Just as I was about to let her go to the office to see if she could leave someone knocked on our door. I opened the door and her dad was standing there in uniform. He knew that she would know this meant he had to leave and he wanted to make sure she was okay and wanted to her how much he loved her. They cried, I cried, the whole class cried. It was such an emotional time and I will never forget how I felt that day. I had an overwhelming need to go to the elementary school and pick up my own children and take them home and hold them tightly in my arms. My sailor was just 11 years old and now it is so hard for me to believe she is a grown woman and serving our country as a Sailor and works every day to protect our rights, our freedom and our country. Today, I honor all of those who died that day and all of those who have died fighting for our freedom and I also honor all of the military and their families for making the choice to take care of all of us. God Bless them all.

Diannep - would you happen to know the BS date for Div 300?

Comment by diannep on September 10, 2012 at 2:37pm

Joesmom:  They will be the first group to go through.  Haven't heard a date yet, but most likely will be the week before PIR week.  We can't post the dates on this page but can private message them.
