WELCOME TO PIR 09/21/2012

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Ok here is my question for the morning..> good morning and Happy Labor Day by the way, I hope our SR"s are getting a chance to enjoy it as well.  Someone posted that their son is in Ship 4, which is the one mine is in, but her's had a different address and she put...... my son is ship 04 due to an injury. He is with the FIT people and the swimmers. What are the FIT people?

Semper Forties? Semper Fortis? Which way?

Comment by FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW on September 2, 2012 at 5:27pm
That's about it! That was my "motto" as far as when my son was in BC..." Be prepared, Be flexible, Always strong/courageous (Semper Forties- the Navy unofficial motto) ". LOL

Hubby was deployed at the same time....only knew the month he was possibly coming home. Didn't know date until he hit American soil...and told know one. Just the month.

BTW Mo's Mom you did nothing wrong in your post...your question just brought the rest in mind for me :-)!!

Mo'sMom - The standard procedure for those flying out for their A school is that they leave in the wee hours Saturday Morning. Okay...wee, wee, wee hours.

Please read this Discussion: (It is bumped up to the top of the DF as well)

After PIR – Liberty; Sailors Departures from RTC

Dear Group,

While I know that more than one will fly to the same place...your Sailor is the only one that can really give you a complete confirmation on his itinerary. I am sure that the other future MA moms may be able to let you know when theirs are leaving...and that would give you something to go on...but your recruit is your final source.

IF you all would like to help each other out as far as info like this...please remember that it is future movement of your new Sailor and please observe OPSEC...do not post specifics such as flight times on the Public Places of the site. Generic info is fine (My Sailor flies out from O"Hare on Saturday...as opposed to "My Sailor flies out from O"Hare on American Airlines on Flight 202 at 05:50 AM"). Please use caution on closed FB groups as well...it may be closed to those who are on there...but "open" to all who are...this is for your Sailor/Sailors shipmates security.

I am trying to figure out when my son will be flying out to his "A" School after PIR.  He is going to the Master At Arms school in San Antonio, TX....anyone know?  Thanks in advance for your help!
