WELCOME TO PIR 09/21/2012

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Dee:  They can ride back on the shuttle with you.  After PIR, they will return to their ship for a while.  Ask them before they do where you should meet them.  The shuttles will be waiting for you....they run until about noon.

The only way this doesn't work is if she is moving over to GL for A School.  In that case, she will have about an hour with you and then she will be bussed over there.  Make sure she has a telephone card with her so she can call you when she is done to get picked up over there.  Sometimes they can borrow a GL sailor's phone, but better to have a phone card.  She can return to that base with her cell phone that night.

Can you tell me where we have to wait to pick up of sailor?  If we take the shuttle from the hotel do they ride back with us or do we have to get our car from the hotel after and drive back to pick her up?

Safe travel today, ladies.  Enjoy the MeetandGreets tonight!  Remember, Sarge's will have the most info for you!

Be early to PIR tomorrow...you will not regret it.  My son's PIR group also had 9 divisions in it like this one does.  We were on the 6:30 shuttle from our hotel.  In the PIR hall shortly after 7.  There were already a good number of people in there....so...be early for choice seating, and to avoid lines!

For those who want to drive but don't want to wait in the car lines, you can pass by RTC on Buckley and park at the train station, which means just a short walk to the gates of RTC.  I would suggest you do a trial run of this today if you plan to do it.
