Sad indeed.
I was just reading about the Blue Star flags....and I was thinking, isn't is sad that my children have never known a time when the US wasn't engaged in hostilities?
while battlestations is a team effort..do they have to pass the team or will individuals make it and others not....will they see effort on ones part and pass or flunk the whole group??
I sure hope 12/306 PIR's on time...If they can't get it together, they wont pass battlestations.....
Leoyak: He may be home for Christmas. Most of the bases go on "Stand down" during the holiday season and many of the sailors are allowed to go home. This has happened to many of my friends' sailors so keep the faith!
Rox, I think that would be fine since you would have a "sailor" then.
Buddy'sMom: Most likely, that is a last name so please remove your post. We are not allowed to post last names here, but the SRs know each other by last names--so thinking this is one. Many don't even know the first names! Thanks for deleting ! You can hit the "Send Message to Group" prompt at the top right of the page and send the name out that way.
Don't worry, the divisions will pull together. They always do!
My daughter has a bachelor degree from APUS/AMU in Middle Eastern Studies and is working on her Masters in the same field. She put that on her paperwork when she was recruited. The recruiters said she could not get credit for that because the school was not recognized by the Navy. I really disagreed with that and so did her dad. They said they would look into it. They eventually said it wouldn't count because it wasn't recognized. In all the confusion of preparing to leave I never heard her say anymore about it. She just called and said she found out that the university is recognized by the Navy and that she didn't get the credit for her degree. So now she has to do something about that when she gets to her first duty station. She also speaks and reads Arabic and wants to be a linguist and now I wonder if they never persued that avenue for her. I try to keep a positive attitude about this so I don't stress her out. Anyway, she just called and told me all this on the phone but seemed positive about getting it fixed and she loves everything she is doing there. She is coming home after A training and will work 5 days at the recruiter's office. It was so good to hear her voice. When everyone got to make their calls before, she was working at the chaplain's office and missed out. I hadn't heard from her since the first call when she arrived. She's alive and kicking. The letters are great, but hearing her voice is the greatest!!! Have a good evening.
We have ours Blue Star Flag displayed because she is serving during wartime. I believe it is customary to wait until they are out of bootcamp though. They used to have a site where you could get them for free but they don't have that anymore.
