Dee: I bumped the questionnaire discussion to the top of the Forum up top. The questionnaires are in that!
Dee, go to the discussion forum right above here. Look for "Boot Camp Questionnaire" posted by FTLW. It was on page 3.
Bsmom: Div 299/300 will be the first to go through BattleStations, so, yes, they will have about a week before PIR. Other divisions will go at the beginning of PIR week and not have as much time before PIR.
Got back a survey I sent my daughter which she had filled in with all kinds of answers. She said everyone loved the survey and now they a copy of it so they can send them to their moms. I can't remember where I got my copy from. I know it was from a comment from someone on this site. If anyone can let me know where to find it, I'll send several copies with return envelopes/incl stamps for return to my daughter. That way they can fill in te questionaire and send it out to their moms. One of the girls from California and she said there is one other girl there from Arizona. She missed the time to make the phone call home because she was doing some work for the Chaplain.(boo hoo)
I appreciate any help finding the survey. I had only made one copy and mailed that one to my daughter. Getting a letter sure lifts my spirits.
Hope others out there get something today also.
Bsmom. Yes, they do spend some time the last week on preparation etc., if their RDC is in a good mood (LOL) they may even get a "party", music and pizza etc.
As for mailing letters you may have a good idea as to how long it takes for your son to get mail from you. If it takes 4 days then send the last one the Saturday before if you'd like. From what I understand they don't have mail delivered on the Friday of PIR (another "veteran mom" may know for sure).
If you send something and it doesn't arrive before PIR it will be forwarded to him in A School, it may take a while to catch up to him.
I have a question, when my son talked to his gf last weekend (yes he called her and not me! -im ok with it!!) he said he had 3 weeks left. As of that time, we have 4 weeks until graduation. Does that mean that in his training he has three weeks and the last week is basically for preparation of graduation, etc? I wonder if i should not write to him that last week if he wont get our letters. Just wondered if anyone knew. Thanks ladies and this website has helped me beyond words. i come to this page everyday, as it for some reason makes me feel closer to my SR, who i miss so so much.
Rox: What a guy! Very unselfish....sure hoping he can call again soon when you are able to answer!
Thank you Leoyak. I completely understand missing his voice.
On the upside Rox, you raised a good boy. He values the team over himself. A true sailer if you ask me. Sorry you missed your call though. At least you have a voice mail to listen to. I miss my son's voice.
