WELCOME TO PIR 09/21/2012

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

We got our call last night as well... (div 306)...my SR said he gets little bouts of depression so I let him talk to his father, as his father was at Great Lakes in 1987 and I felt he was the best person to answer his questions.  I did remind him that PIR is a month away...so he's half way through and not to stress too much.

I think his main issue is the yelling...he's always been one who didn't need to be yelled at to get things done.  So other's getting the division yelled at is weighing heavy on his mind.

Anyone know the place close by with the best rate, to stay...our funds are very limited and we are already planning $1000 in traveling expenses.

I want to get my SR something little for a graduation gift.  Does anyone have any ideas or what they are able to take with them to A school.

Yes, the Recruit Training Command line on the address is optional, but I used it on my letters too.

Good Morning all!  Hope you get your internet up and running again, FTLW!

Thanks FTLW for being the Fairy in the Night leaving all the good info. I hope you are feeling better :-)

Jenideer- I would expect the letters to finally reach him but I would try writing every day and mailing each letter that day or the next morning individually. Maybe if the letters were thick it could have caused a delay. Probably not but at this point I am sure you are willing to try anything. Also have his sister write and say "Mom has been writing and we hope you have received her letters now but when you get to update the guest list these are the changes that need to be made. Please let us know if you received Mom's letters" Chances are that your letters have arrived since the last one he wrote his sister and you will hopefully get one this week.

Well...sorry I wasn't on much today...a little under the weather. So...yes, LaLa...I am being a little fairy or elf (though I guess that's closer to Christmas) leaving presents!

Have some reading back to do first!
