I have a question maybe someone can answer. My husband and I have retired ID cards. Can we get on the base at any time with these cards? My daughter put us on the visitors list eventhough we weren't suppose to be llisted. Will we get visitors passes when the time comes? We are used to coming and going freely on any military installation and was just wondering if that will be the case here.
What you did that morning by reaching out to a military mother in passing at her time of need was very heartfelt and sensative. I thank you as a mother of an SR daughter and hope that we can all see the needs of others in this fast moving life we all live.
Lala thanks for sharing..What you did is PRICELESS. She will cherish that conversaton for a long time. I hope she joins us on the site... Carrie know that I am praying for you & your son..
Thanks Everyone!!!
I was walking out of the hotel early this morning while my family was sleeping and a woman was struggling with two suitcases. I helped out to her car and saw an Army mom decal on her window. I asked about her soldier and she started to cry. She came in yesterday to welcome him home from Afghanistan. He has only been in a year and has already been there for just shy of 7 months and just got back yesterday. She wanted to spend more time with him but has to go back to work so she had to leave today. My heart was breaking for her. We talked for almost an hour and I told her all about this website even though there are very few Army Moms here that doesn't really matter. We all know what it is like to have a loved one in the military and be missing them. The one thing she said that all of us here can relate to is her family just doesn't understand what she is feeling and why it is so hard for her. They think she should be stronger. He is her only child and she is a single mom. She seemed so much better after talking to me/someone who understands what she is going through and is willing to listen to her. I'm not sure how long her son will be back at FT Bragg. He got married right before basic training and his wife, whom he has barely even lived with is 7 months pregnant. This moms name is Carrie, so please keep her and her soldier, his wife and baby in your thoughts and prayers. Thanks so much
I feel your pain Dee, My android died and I had to get a new phone. They talked me into an i-Phone and I hate it. My other phone worked everywhere, no problems. This one doesn't work in a lot of places and it drops calls a lot more UGGG
zachsmom: Wow....I can't imagine. I've had the ruptured cyst and that was painful enough! So glad that you are feeling better now.
Yes, Dee, NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS!
Good Morning all. Hope you have a great weekend!
Zachsmomct - Sorry to hear about your episode with kidney stones and ruptured cyst. Unless you have been through this it's hard to explain how painful it can be. The worse part is over. Did not get a phone call yesterday. Carried the phone with me everywhere and I''m usually the one who leaves it home or doesn't hear the ring. I held it in my hand the whole day. I finally went to bed and then got a call from hubby. He's flying around the middle east and calls once in a while. I had fallen asleep and had a hard time explaining I was exhausted from waiting for our daughters call. He's anxious to know how she is doing. Several siblings called yesterday or came by to see if I had heard from her. What a relief it will be to hear her voice and maybe some calm will come of it for everyone. I must say I just got a smart phone after killing my flip phone and worry I won't be able to answer fast enough. The phone really is much smarter then I. Oh well, have a good day everyone and maybe good news tonight. No news is good news, right?
Whitney's mom - I'm so glad to hear about your daughter!! That's great. I'm sure you feel a bit of relief now. I hope she continues to do well!
Oh my goodness zachsmom, I am so glad you are okay. I have had both of those things happen to me and each time I thought I would die. I can't even imagine them happening at the same time. Bless your heart, take it easy for a few days. I hope you get a really "nice" long call from your recruit :-)
Morning... Well after an evening spent in the ER (for me) I am home and resting. Had the worst pain in my life. Not even child birth was this horrific. Passed a kidney stone, and ruptured a cyst on an overy, apparently one after the other within the same time frame. Not looking for sympathy, just sharing an experience. I've never had problems with either of these places inside me, and let me tell you, I will NOT wait as long to get to the ER the next time I feel this pain!!!
Anywho, I'm home, much better, and still more concerned about my son then me. Did anyone get a call yesterday? I kept my phone with me the entire time, and made sure the BF answered anything that was not a local call. Nothing!
Oh well. I got a letter that I have read like 4 times now. I will continue to believe that "No news, is Good news."
Whitney's Mom...YEA!!! I'm sure you can breath a sigh of relief. I'm so glad your girl is feeling better, and sticking with it.
Well have a good day everyone, and THANK YOU ALL FOR BEING HERE FOR ALL OF US!!
