WELCOME TO PIR 09/21/2012

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Hi all, just stopped in to say hey. Back to school.  No kids yet, but lot & lots of meetings, training & moving stuff in & out my classroom.  I am so tired right now, but had to give my Navy family a shout out...My son sent letter telling me to send him more pics, said it was okay...

Diannep - I have been printing photos on the back of letters the whole time. However, yesterday I was tired and sent photos. So thanks for the info. I will go back to printing on the letters for sure.

Whitney's mom - Glad to hear the good news! I know she will be anxious to continue her journey. I'm sure her mates will be glad to have her back also. Am awaiting "the phone call" today, hopefully. Hearing her voice will be the greatest.

"I know you treasured those phone calls"  and  " ...so they have lots to look at taking up little storage space."  OOOPS!  Sorry about the mistakes!

Comment by diannep on August 17, 2012 at 1:24pm

So glad that she is doing so much better, Whitney'sMom!  I know your treasured those phone calls, even though so sad they were from the hospital.  Hoping that she is up and training again soon!

Ladies, when sending piks to your SRs....consider scanning them onto the back of your letter or on a separate sheet of paper.  If you sent actual piks, it draws attention to the envelope since it will be thicker  (they will have to open in front of RDCs then) and also...they have such limited storage space there to keep them.  Better to scan/print them collage-style on paper so they have lots to look a taking up little storage spacet!

Whitneysmom.... Really great news!!!
Comment by Whitney's Mom on August 17, 2012 at 11:57am

Hey there moms! Just want to report that after 4 nights in the hospital, Whitney is back at BC. I loved be able to talk to her and will report that she said it isn't that bad at all and as long as you do what your told, you won't have any problems. She has also made some great friends and hopes to be able to remain with her division. So far the people that came to see her at the hospital didn't think it would be a problem for her to get right back and catch up. I also received a letter but had already been told most of the info from being able to talk with her while she was in the hospital so it was a little disappointing but will look forward to more letters to come. Also, keep your phones close today, Whitney said they are supposed to be able to call today.

Thanks for all the prayers. You guys are awesome.
