WELCOME TO PIR 09/21/2012

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I am so sorry she is sick Whitney's Mom, I know anytime our children are sick, no matter how old they are or where they are located all we want to do is be there with them. I am so thankful that she is at least able to call you. I will keep her and you in my thoughts and prayers and pray for a speedy recovery. Please keep us informed and let us know how she is doing.

Oh Whitney's Mom - my prayers are heading to your daughter and to your family.  You are so sweet to remember to tell us about the phone calls.  Thank you for that.  I am so sorry that your daughter is hurting.

Whitney's Mom - That is so sweet of you to post about calls! Thank you! Your daughter too...I am hoping that since she was able to tell you that that her illness is not that serious! Prayers for a speedy and full recovery...I am so sorry as it must be hard for you :-( but glad that she can call you. I am sure it made her feel better too!

Also, my daughter told me that they are scheduled to be able to make their calls home on Friday if all goes as planned. Just thought I would give you a little inside information. I hope that's ok. Watch those phones mamas.

Hey There. I received a call from my beautiful girl at 6:30 am this morning and was so excited to see the call come in until I heard my daughter crying on the other end telling me she is in the hospital. Please pray for her. She has some kind of infection (white blood count is up) and they are trying to figure out what it is. She is very sick, can't keep anything down and has a high fever. All I want to do is jump on a plane and get to my girl but I know I cannot do that. So all I can do is pray and ask others to do the same. The only good thing is that she can call me from the hospital.

Thanks for listening and praying.

We had 9 divisions when my son was up there.  We left our hotel, by shuttle, at 6:30.  We were in the PIR Hall by a few minutes after 7 and there were already people there (top rows of bleachers, against wall, already full).

So remember to leave early on PIR day.  The actual ceremony doesn't start until 9, but there is pre-ceremony activity going on....and seating fills up quickly!
