WELCOME TO PIR 09/21/2012

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

We got a letter from my son today too.  I made my husband open it up and read it to me.  I can't wait to see it though!  He said the letters are great and to keep them coming!

It is raining here in NC too :-) I have to remember not to complain about it because i know so many people really need. The good thing about all the rain is everything here is VERY GREEN :-)  I hope everyone had a wonderful day.

MommaDukes:  There are no tickets persay for graduation.  They go by the list of names your SR wrote on the form letter.

Sometimes your SR may know of someone in his/her division who has no one coming   :-(  or at least has some spots open on their list and you can be listed on their form letter (they update this shortly before PIR).  At one time, though, RTC asked us not to do this.  So not sure, but know some do it.  In that case, you would need to give that sailor's full name when arriving at PIR because that is the list you are on.....OR....

You can show up with proper ID and still get in.  You may have to wait in the Visitors Center for a while until others are seated, but you should get in to the PIR Hall before it starts.  Sometimes people wait a few minutes, sometimes a little longer.  The Navy will only guarantee entry to the 4 people on the list, but we know from being on this site for a long time that others will get in.

You are awesome for helping everyone so much! We are in need of two tickets for PIR as ex took them all; any suggestions? PIR date 9/21/12

Most likely the first week in October...but that is not a guarantee. RTC will release that as we get closer.

Last year RTC FB posted it on their site...so we watch for it. Moms will also ask their recruits to let them know as well.

The Fiscal year starts on October 1 of each year for the military.

FTLW - Thanks!  I am hoping you are right.  Though I am a bit excited to do this adventure!  I will help any people I can for a seat.  First come first serve of course.  And I will have to figure out how to do that.

Here are a couple of links for Rates (enlisted Navy personnel have "rate". Officers have "rank"):
