It's good to know the Sailors up there are in good hands. They need someone like Sarge looking out for them :-)
4EVERB, thanks, you don't have to look far to find me lol.
bhindthechair, that is a really cute screen name :-)
Welcome to all the new members!!!
FTLW- I hope you are not sick!!!
BMBmom, you are correct, your SR cannot go more that 50 miles from the RTC PIR weekend.
I attended Sarges meet and greet and it was wonderful. Lots of information, good food and he answered every question. He is a great source for transportation while you are there and for your SR if he is staying in GL for A School (my son and his buddies call him a lot).
Finally got the letter. She is Ship 4 Division 303.
4EVERB: Chances are, this is the correct group for 306. But we just have to wait until RTC posts the actual divisions, hopefully the beginning of next week. So stay here for now!
On the letters, best to wait for the form letter before mailing your letters. Sometimes the info from the recruiter is different from the SR's--SR's is correct info. The mail is also held from the SRs for about 2 weeks until they can train the Recruit Mail Petty Officer to handle it. So even if you mail, he wouldn't get it yet.
If you want to mail before the form letter is received, here is Ship 12's address:
SR (Last Name, First Name, MI)
Ship 12 Div (put # in)
3515 Sailor Drive
Great Lakes, IL 60088-3515
"not required" not "no required." sorry....
MBMOM: Too funny....I cheat like that all of the time!!!! Google is my Friend!
Ok, the MeetandGreets -- FTLW will be posting info on them soon up top. But there are several---Sarge's, Ramada, and Flannigans. All are family/kid friendly and have some appetizers.
Sarge's is relatively new (in the last year) and has the most info---we get great reviews on his. He is retired military, in the area for over 30 yrs. He has a transportation service for all Navy families/friends during PIR weekend and also for the GL A School sailors. He is wonderful....can answer most any question you have about the area and PIR, A School, etc. He will be doing this at his MeetandGreet. He also feeds you very well there, I have heard...more than just appetizers. He just asks for anyone to donate anything they want to in order to help with the expense of it (he pays for it himself). But no required, of course. The MeetandGreets are all held the night before PIR.
Soooo....watch for FTLW's info soon....then---you will see a rectangale with MeetandGreets in it and she will have a link below that to click on for info.
Hello! I'll be back on soon to answer some questions (unless another senior member does it first1) and post some info...have to go to the doctor.
Good afternoon all!!
Questions of the day..oh and btw on the dixie cup question I cheated before answering lol google is the bomb!
Can anyone enlighten me on the meet and greet events? And the SR can not go 50 miles away, correct? I was going to get Notre Dame tickets but if that is the case I guess not.
No matter wen my PIR date, Im looking up the ribbon queen Lala...
