OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I have an android as well...once I have the site up I switch to desktop view...like ellen0502 described. Then...I "Bookmark" it. Then all I have to do is click the bookmark. I can do this for each group I am on and more. You just have to stay signed in on the site all day then it pulls right up...that of course doesn't mean you have to moniter it 24/7...it is just "waiting" there for you. I bookmarked this group and it's title is easily displayed as PIR 09/21/2012.

The same goes for if you are acessing through email notifications...once you get one and you want to respond...click the link that takes you straight to it. Again...you must be signed in already.

So I sign in in the AM and sign out at night...if I remember LOL. But it is good to sign out daily.

YEP, MBMOM!  You are right!  The "dixie cup" is the Navy white sailor "cover" (hat).  Way to go!

Buddy's mom. Type in navyformoms.com on your phone browser. It will pull up this website (if you can get to FB you can get here).

I don't know what phone you have, but once this website is loaded there should be a "button" (it may look like a piece of paper with lines) probably top right, that allows you to have this website look just the same as when you are on a computer. On my phone (Droid), I changed it to desktop view, from there it looks and navigates exactly the same way as it does on a home computer.

Let me know if you have any other questions or can't get it to work. I will try and help you through it.

Here is a tip to help you navigate this site and make it easy peasy for you.

First make sure that you bookmark N4Ms on your browser. At the top of the N4Ms site you will see several tabs, "main", "invite", "my page", etc. If you click on the my page tab it will show you all the groups you belong to, and gives you a  clickable link.

If you click on the "groups" tab it will bring up all the groups here on N4Ms. Just below the tabs at the top and to the left, there are two more clickable links, one says all groups which will take you back to the main page for group listings and the other says my groups. Clicking "my groups" will take you to a page with the groups you have joined.

It may seem confusing at first, but using a couple of times you will see just how easy it is. If you have any questions on navigating the site please ask.

Oh ellen0502 YIKES...where did you find THAT one! LOL

Comment by ellen0502 on August 2, 2012 at 4:51pm

Glad to see you are getting the form letter from their SRs. That is one of the hardest things to wait for, and it can take up to three weeks.

Feel free to stalk your mailman while you wait for letters, just make sure you let them know you are not a creepy stalker. Ugly Man Laugh

I stalked my postman, for the first 4 weeks waiting for the form letter and then the first "real" letter, sometimes sitting in a lawn chair, strategically placed by the mailbox, while I read a book (my mail arrives anywhere from 2pm to 5ish). I explained why to him and also told my neighbors so they wouldn't call those in the white coats to come haul me away.

So, moral of this story, don't feel bad if you do become that kind of a stalker, it happens to a lot of us.

Just got my letter today.....about 20 minutes or so ago...PIR is 21SEP12. He is Ship 14 DIV 300. I am so excited....about to head to the post office to mail him some letters. Next step is a phone call hopefully.

I have seen some say they have received their Form Letter with this date....so have "confirmd" that way for the starting of this group.

BUT, RTC Website puts out a list of Upcoming Graduations...It is not updated for this TG PIR date yet.

http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/upcoming_grads.asp

Once that it is...we will update the Title to reflect that info.

Comment by Whitney's Mom on August 2, 2012 at 2:23pm

So are we sure that the PIR date is 9/21 for division 945? I want to book our hotel  ASAP but maybe I should wait for the form letter. I'm just wondering how you all know for sure.

Comment by FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW on August 2, 2012 at 1:16pm

You got it! It's the Sailor hat that the male Sailors wear with their Dress Whites/Blues. They stencil their Division number in it. Was one of the first things I asked to see when I saw my new Sailor!
