N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Ok thanks guys!!!! Did anyone in DIV 370 happen to ask if everyone in their DIV made it through BS21? There's a mom that never received her call, just trying to check around for her. Thank you

Pattylilly:  You will get your airlines gate pass when you meet your sailor at the airport before he flies out---at the airlines counter.  Take ID.  You shouldn't have a problem getting the pass.

SRsailormoon:  We took the shuttle from Residence.  We were on the 6:30 one...at base by 6:40....in PIR Hall a few minutes after 7.  We had no wait to pick one back up after PIR.  Sarge also has a shuttle service....he won't leave you waiting forever!  So the shuttle worked out well for us.  Another option is to drive and park down at the train station, short walk to base.  You would then avoid traffic that may be leaving the base....

SRsailormom,

I had a rental car, but opted to take Sarge's shuttle just to save me from other drivers, even though I could've handled it with all the hints and shortcuts Sarge gave.  $3 each person each way and our Sailor daughter got to ride back on the shuttle to the hotel for free.  When we were done with the NEX, I just gave Sarge a call and his shuttle was just coming back to pick up his "folk" (us) in the lot to the right of the NEX.  There won't be any unnecessarily long wait for one of Sarge's shuttles.  There are other shuttle there from other companies also who try to get your business and they will over-charge you!  Here's SARGE' cell phone to program into your cell--easy peasy!!    SARGE  847-212-0246

SRsailormom. We drove to PIR, it gave us a little more freedom since our son was staying in GL for A School. When he had to return to move to the other side we were able to leave right away and didn't have to wait.

I don't think there is much of a wait for the shuttles, but I don't know for sure.

Veteran moms, did you guys take shuttle or drive to PIR? I'm debating. If I took shuttle would I be waiting around for hours afterwards to get back to hotel?
