Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

My son is 11/366 and headed to Pensacola for A school - This is my first post after reading 77 pages of great info! (as directed by my husband who updates me daily and says this site has more info than Navy Dads!) I have made lots of good notes. Mike had all four wisdom teeth pulled on the 16th so did not get to call. He wrote on the 18th and had not received all our letters yet, so I was feeling sad for him when we got his letter on the 23rd (We live in NorCal). He had hoped to call this week but it has not happened yet. I miss his voice and I wish I could read your posts at least once without crying! We are staying at the Navy Lodge and going to Meet and Greet; I'll be the one wearing Navy Mom outfit!!! Thank you Vet Moms for all the info and support and fellow mom's, even though I cry, it helps knowing we are in the same boat... ship!!!  I am so happy to be a part of this big family.

Good morning everyone, I hope you all are having a good weekend. We are pressure washing the house and decks and cleaning out the gutters. Oh the joys of not being rich enough to hire someone lol. I am too old for this :)

Good morning! Thank you CatMom and Diannep for keeping us updated on what is going on with our SRs. It is always appreciated. Prayers to our recruits that they stay healthy and focused as they enter this part of their training!

This PIR group will be starting into Training Week 4 later this week.  By next week, all divisions will be in it.  Training Week 4 is Hell Week.  Early wake up, lots of inspections, etc.  But a turnaround week as far as their attitudes....they really become more positive during this week and have their "goal" in sight!  The lower-numbered divisions should start this week by about Thurs.  Higher-numbered divisions may start it at the beginning of next week.

Good Morning All !

Friends,

Your SRs are going into the "radio silence" mode where pretty much the only contact you will have is their weekly letters.  They are entering the intense and busy part of their training.  They will be tested on their barracks, uniforms, marching, and how well they finally pull together.  They can earn reward flags to hold proudly in front of their divisions at PIR.  At the end and right before they start going into Battlestations, they may be allowed a call if they are doing well as a division.  This is in addition to their "I'm a Sailor" call, so rest easy everyone, this phase is part of the home stretch!!  Keep writing those letters!!

KJarizona, my daughter is on ship 14, DIV 361.  I haven't had a call this weekend but I had one on Wednesday She said that would be the last call for awhile.  From here on out they had to earn their calls.
