N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

SRsailormom,

I have the same concern too. My son is struggling with the push ups. He however doesn't seem to be worried. But he is just in week 2-1 tommorow will be 2-2 so has a few more weeks to get it right. All the SR's in his division he said are helping him so he seems to think with their help he will make it. My son is no jock. He has running close enough to the time he needs to have and he has almost all the sit ups he needs to have. Just those darn push ups are giving hime a hard time. But before he left he could only do about 10 situps and he didn't run. So he is making great strides. He is very determined. And for that I am very proud of him

I have a question for the veterans on here.  Do most SR's that fail the pushups, situps and run test the first time usually end up passing on that 3rd attempt?  Im assuming that a lot fail the first round because they aren't in top shape yet and they need those extra weeks of intense PT to get them up to par, just a bit nervous and worried and would like to hear if a lot of SR's fail that first test but ace it that 3rd time.

My son is in Ship 13 Div 364. He called last night at 7:30. I was very happy to hear from him. His P days were about a week and a half. He got there on 7/25/13 and Monday will only day 2-1. I know that he is in a good division as he says everybody helps everybody. He is struggling with his push ups but says he isn't worried at all b/c literally the whole division is helping him out. Nick was never a jock by any means, exersize was not a priority for him. I have been telling him for a year that he should start working out. He didn't. He can do the run ok. The sits ups he says he's up to 37 of them in two min. So I think he will make that. He was a swimmer and was on the swim team in school and he passed the swim test with flying colors he said.  He has two good friends he has made since has been there. They are the guys with bunks next his. But he says everybody is still getting to know each other so he will make more. He told me he is actually enjoying the exersizes which was a surprise to me since that has never been his thing. He says "he is very motivated to become a sailor" I think he will make it. I was so sure that he would hate it, but he is actually enjoying himself. So for all you moms, I wouldn't worry to much. All those boys have each others back. They are all going to do fine!! Don't get me wrong. I still miss him like crazy. But I know now that his letters will arrive on Thursday. So I don't have to drive the mailman crazy. (we have a great mail man, he even came to Nicks grad party!!) and I have recieved calls 2 weeks in a row. Hope to get another one next week but I don't think that will be likely but I will still keep my fingers crossed. Also I know that his brother company is Div 363. He said they were great as well.

Anyone get any calls today? I was hoping the ones that didn't get to call yesterday would get a chance today!

My SR didn't say anything. He was just worried about an inspection. Said everyone is cool & he was homesick. No good info about the group :/

I have some questions for mom's who received calls yesterday from ship 3 Div 367, what was said about the division and how they are doing as a whole and did anyone find out what day they are on? Are they in a push division?

I just want you all to know I still love ya lol. I have not forgotten about you!!! We are traveling around the world this weekend haha. Well not really. My Sailor and baby Eastyn came home last Monday and surprised us. GREAT Surprise :) She rode back home with her in-laws so that meant she needed a way back to VA Beach. So Friday we all headed to my son's Fire Academy Boot Camp graduation near Charlotte. It was so nice to finally see him again after 8 long weeks. Very proud of him <3 We spent the night with my brother in Charlotte. Left yesterday morning to go to Wilmington NC to move our other daughter into her new apartment at UNCW. It's like a convoy with a 14' UHAUL and two cars lol. Today we say goodbye to her and leave Wilmington and head to VA Beach to take our Sailor and Eastyn home. We will spend the night there and then drive back 7-8 hours home to WNC tomorrow. Man I am pooped and that is a lot of traveling with a 3 week old baby. I promise things will get back to normal in a few days and you will have lots of my attention :) I hope you all are having a great weekend.
