N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

We will also be there for the whole weekend after PIR, although my Son will be going to Pensacola. My husband and I are planning on heading to see Chicago after my boy takes off for his next destination. And yes my iPhone is also glued to my hand. LOL...

Hi there SoCalNavyMom and Amy95!  Our children are in the same Division! WOOH!  My husband and I will be attending the PIR. Our son stays at Great Lakes, so we plan to be there for the entire weekend!  We are excited!  We are excited for personal letter and call too!  Never thought I'd sleep so close to that iPhone!! lol

I have sent my SR calling card codes from callsforrecruits@gmail.com. I will also be picking up a reg calling card to send this week. I cannot wait to hear from him. I am praying that he calls on Sunday while we have our Fantasy Football draft at our house, because a few of his good buddies are still in our league and they will be there.

landlockednavy- My Son is the same Ship & Div as yours. YAY! Will you be going to PIR? I have also only received the form letter and box. No phone call or personal letter yet.

My son is Ship 3 Div 367!  Form letter received last weekend; looking forward to his first phone call...My iPhone has become my new best friend!

Hope to talk to more of you Div 367 family members!!   This is a Great site to connect and learn from!

The CallsForRecruits cards are great....but remember....they are only about 20 minutes each, so each one is really good for only one call (by the time minutes are used up due to connection).  So adding a regular calling card is a good thing.

I got an AT&T 360 min calling card at target. It was on sale from 20.00 to 14.99.  I figured that she could share it if she was feeling generous.  I'll have to check on the Recruits.com site.  That's a nice service they provide, free calling cards!
