N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Good Morning All NAVY MOMS

@BryansMom, oh yes I will most definitely be there!  My daughter & my parents will be going too.  We'll be going to Sarge's meet & greet that Thursday.  Will you be attending?

I hope I get to meet y'all in person when we're there.

Good Morning to everyone!

Just booked my reservations for my sons 9/27/2013 graduation, Ship 13 Div 363.  Has anyone ever stayed at the Newly Renovated Motel 6 in Waukegan? Says its 4 miles from Navy Base. I am so excited, and I bet all of you are too.   Have a super day!!!

krislix:  Yes, it is a good idea to go ahead and book your hotel now.  No penalty if you change or cancel as long as you book directly with the hotel (i.e., don't go through a travel discount site--there are usually charges if you change/cancel).  You can usually cancel up to day of arrival if need be when booking directly with hotel.

Suggested hotels because of good past reviews:

Navy Lodge (tell them you are there for Navy Grad; book in SR's name)

Springhill Suites Waukegan/Gurnee

Courtyard Inn Waukegan/Gurnee

Residence Inn Waukegan/Gurnee

Holiday Inn Express Waukegan/Gurnee

Good Morning All !

Friends,

Also want to let you know that you can put your SR's cell phone on Military Suspension for the 2 months that he/she wiil be in Boot Camp.  Just contact your cell phone carrier after your SR has made his/her "I'm Here" call and the phone is on its way back to you in The Box or any time after you get it back.  You can do this for free and it will save on the monthly charges on that phone.  You can re-activate it for the day before PIR.  I was able to easily re-activate my daughter's cell phone online at Verizon Wireless.
