Dad of SR: Yes, when they are on "hold" there for any reason...after becoming sailors....they are allowed their cell phones. However, the sailors moving over to GL A School or those flying out the next day cannot have them at RTC. Your sailor will know this for sure, trust me! :-)
Stephanie,
He's not moving to the other side of the base for school, he's just on hold to fly to Pensacola for school. I think they move to ship 5 while on hold.
I thought he wasn't going to be allowed his cell but he is saying that his RDC's say they can have their cell while on hold.
VETERAN MOMS, do any of you know if this is true. My son said that if he is delayed in shipping to Pensacola that he will move ships and that the RDC's said they can have their cell phone once they move?
Had planned on giving him his computer and phone at the airport but if he is delayed a while that isn't going to be possible and I'd like him to have his cell phone for the trip to Pensacola.
Dad of SR, i am flying airtran ( i am flying out of southwest florida) but i think it may be a subsidary of southwest, maybe when i find out for sure if he is staying i will call the airline, reschedule my rental car and hotel :/ oh boy lol but so worth it
My SR is also Pact Seaman. He told me he would be in GL for 4 weeks for school. He is coming home after that for a 10 day leave :)
