Dad of SR:  Yes, when they are on "hold" there for any reason...after becoming sailors....they are allowed their cell phones.  However, the sailors moving over to GL A School or those flying out the next day cannot have them at RTC.  Your sailor will know this for sure, trust me!  :-)

Oh, good he can have his phone at least. Hopefully he won't be there too long.
Comment by Dad of Sailor on September 22, 2012 at 1:28pm

Stephanie,

He's not moving to the other side of the base for school, he's just on hold to fly to Pensacola for school. I think they move to ship 5 while on hold.

I thought he wasn't going to be allowed his cell but he is saying that his RDC's say they can have their cell while on hold.

Dad of SR, once they move to the other side of the base, they may have cell phone, computer, etc. Just can't have those things on the RTC side.
Comment by Dad of Sailor on September 22, 2012 at 12:20pm

VETERAN MOMS, do any of you know if this is true. My son said that if he is delayed in shipping to Pensacola that he will move ships and that the RDC's said they can have their cell phone once they move?

Had planned on giving him his computer and phone at the airport but if he is delayed a while that isn't going to be possible and I'd like him to have his cell phone for the trip to Pensacola.

Happy Saturday all. I got our ribbons today they are so very amazing. I cannot wait to wear them Thursday night at the meet and greet. Our shirts are in as well and my nails are done showing my pride red, white and blue. Things are coming along I can't wait to see our SR's graduate. My son advised us that he has A school for corpsman in San Antonio Texas . Does anyone have an idea of what his liberty will be post PIR?

My SR is also Pact Seaman. He told me he would be in GL for 4 weeks for school. He is coming home after that for a 10 day leave :)

Stephansmom, my son is undes. Seaman and will stay in GL for school. I thought it was a 2 week school. I hope it is 4. Not ready for him to be far away...

Thinking of my kid and his Division at Captains Cup. Definitely hard for this mom. I've been to every wrestling and baseball tournament and every footbal game EVER, to cheer my kid and his team on. Not today though. *tear* I'm cheering today from a distant sideline!
