For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

A quick note here: Last Names of Recruits/Sailors are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

Comment by Dad of Sailor on September 12, 2012 at 1:17pm: Thanks FTLW but still confused...he arrived on 7/30 and his letter says he is on 5-4 day today and starts 6-1 day after tomorrow on Friday. Isn't the gas chamber and all that next week and PIR is the week after that. Is BS next week or the following week of PIR? Following on Craigs website it shows training week 6 as a complete week of training with BS after that.

Thanks for any clarification.

Generically speaking...BC is:
P days.
6 weeks of training days.
Last week...prep to leave/for PIR and PIR.

Comment by Dad of Sailor on September 12, 2012 at 12:43pm: I thought BS would be in week 7 but my son said in his letter "we'll be doing BS sometime in week 6". Do some do it in week 6 or does he have a bad rumor?

6-1 day is this Friday, can it be that time already?
